Served onboard: USCGC Rush (NLVS), USCGC Citrus (NRPQ) and temporary duty on other Pacific cutters.
Served on shore: USCG RM 'A' School; USN RM 'B' School; USN RM 'C' School,  Communications Station San Francisco, Instructor at USCG RM 'A' School, taught CW and Communication Systems; Radioman in-charge Station Alexandria (K4CG, NNN0NCG and NNN0KID, amateur call N7WQ); Radioman Chief of Comms at NNBIS (National Narcotics Border Interdiction System) Long Beach CA; Communications Officer Greater Antilles Section, San Juan PR; In-charge, Pacific Area Intel Team & developed one of the first websites for the Coast Guard (1993), USCG Pacific Area Communications Security Officer and CMS/EKMS ISIC (electronic key management), at the time, developed the only CG-wide CMS intranet website in support of secure communications (all CG site behind security firewalls).

Personal: Married to the former Mimi Petersen of Fulton CA; Daughter (Beth) attends Portland State University (language major), Son (Tom) attends the University of Oregon in Eugene (math major).
Education: Graduated with honors from Rogue Community College (AS Business) attending Southern Oregon University in spring 2007.
Community support: Member and past Flotilla Commander of FL59 (Grants Pass OR); Master Gardener under the Oregon State University program.
Interests: Amateur Radio call sign: N7WQ; Maintaining 7+ acres in the Grants Pass area; Staying out of my wife's way.
