Publicizing your Class

  1. The first step is to complete the ANSC-7023, either the online version of the forms version.  So now what?

  2. The next step is to get a press release sent to your local newspapers, but how is this done?

    • Prepare a press release.  Here is an example press release of an ABC class.  You can cut, paste and replace your own information on this document.

    • Sending your press release.  In an e-mail, attach your press release and send it
      To: d13ipa@uscg.mil, Cc: debbie@jre.com, and anyone else you think should have a copy of your press release.

  3. Following the steps in #2 above will give a copy of your press release to the District 13 Public Affairs Office (PAO) and the Auxiliary DSO-PA.  The D13 PAO will correct any wording/spelling, if needed, place their official, 'this is from the USCG', and send it out to news media outlets in your area.

  4. This process saves you time, your flotilla the cost of placing the information in you local newspaper and gives your PE class the greatest exposure possible.
